The SBIS database is designed to provide users with non-commercial and objective information about sustainable building practices around the world.
Notes for users

Records currently entered include methods and tools described in a web-based database developed by U.S. Department of Energy. In each of these records, a button links the user to the more detailed information in the USDoE site. Another source of method and tool records is the Annex 31 working group of the International Energy Agency (IEA). Other sources include other IEA or CIB working groups, as well as the GBC working group. In all cases, an effort is being made to ensure that there has been some form of quality screening before a method or tool is entered, so that we avoid being taken advantage of by marketing efforts. Where a commercial product is offered for inclusion in the file, we will subject it to a peer review by knowledgeable individuals.
